Learn to Judge Fiber Arts at Fairs: Pre-Conference
JUNE 4-5 2014
Taught by Certified NwRSA Judges Cheryl Reed and Ann Klinect, this is Part 1 on the 2-part training for certification with the Northwest Regional Spinners Association (NwRSA). Over 2 days, we'll learn the philosophy of this style of judging and apply it to handspun yarns and articles made from handspun/commercial yarns. We cover mainly spinning, knitting and handwovens this time. Participants bring samples of handspun yarns, articles knit with handspun and handwovens with handspun/commercial yarns.
We need to practice on the good, the bad, and the ugly - so bring 1 item you're proud of and then 3 - 5 items that are less than perfect. This is a more positive style of judging than you may know. The criteria to complete your certification with NwRSA will also be covered. Cost: $150.
